EVENT: LADY BIRD JOHNSON LEGACY CELEBRATION, December 21, 2008

On the Texas White House Lawn:

Sunday, December 21 from 2:30 to 4:30. Friends of LBJ National Historical Park, Western National Parks Association & Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park invite you to a special afternoon on the Texas White House lawn Celebrating the Christmas Season and the Legacy of Lady Bird Johnson. Authors Jen Ohlson, Kathi Appelt and Illustrator Joy Fisher Hein will celebrate the Season, mingle with guests & sign copies of their books which highlight some of Mrs. Johnson's contributions to our world.

Original art works by Joy Fisher Hein from Miss Lady Bird's Wildflowers are available for purchase at this event from 2:30 to 4:30 pm. 20% of the sales of these paintings on this date will go to the Friends of LBJ National Historical Park. All paintings are acrylic on illustration board, completed 2002-2003. See Listing for detailed descriptions and prices of the paintings available for purchase.

To access the LBJ Ranch, go to the LBJ State Park visitor center in Stonewall, Texas to receive a car pass, map and audio CD of the attractions in both parks. At 6 pm later that evening, join the Annual Tree Lighting event at the LBJ State Park for music, the lighting of the tree, visits with Santa Claus, evening tours of the Sauer-Beckman Farm and the LBJ Ranch decorated for the Holidays.
