HOR D'OEUVRES: The Silver K Cafe in Johnson City has again demonstrated they are a true friend of the LBJ Ranch & National Park Service, and is providing the hors d'oeuvres for the evening festivities. Hill Country-inspired dishes such as Barbeque meat balls in a peach barbeque sauce, Gorgonzola walnut cheese torte with fig preserves and fruit stuffed brie are just a few of the culinary delights that evening. Come and enjoy these tasty treats with Friends. A special thanks to the Silver K Cafe for their generous and tasty offerings.

2. Rebecca Rather Cookbook "Pastry Queen Christmas" and a special baked goodie from one of her cookbooks. Ms. Rather will be at the reception to autograph books.


3. Sunset Dinner hosted by Friends of the LBJ National Historical Park Chair Bob Keith and his wife Frana at their Cypress Valley Ranch. Choice of date to be agreed upon by host and purchaser. Invite your friends to this dinner for 10 as you enjoy an evening under the stars for a hillside view of the sun set over the Texas Hill Country. The Keith's Cypress Valley Ranch is located in the Cypress Mill Community on the top of a hill near Shovel Mountain. Wine and hors d'oeuvres await you and your guests on the lawn overlooking the expansive view, with the possibility of a lively game of Bocce Ball or Croquet. As the sun sets let your senses be filled with sounds of music in the night and the smells of country air as you gather for a gourmet dinner prepared by Karen Weber, LBJ National Historical Park Founding Board member. Last, but not least, save room for a sinful dessert served by your hosts before saying good night to your friends.

4. "Art in the White House: A Nation's Pride" coffee table book. Presenting the White House fine arts collection of nearly 500 paintings, sculptures, and drawings. Works by Gilbert Stuart, George Bellows, Norman Rockwell, Georgia O'Keefe and Jacob Lawrence are among the nearly 50 recent acquisitions included in this edition. At the heart of this award winning book more than 100 major works of art, sumptuously reproduced, are the subjects of individual essays by art historian William Kloss. A catalog detailing each work in the White House collection completes this book.

10. Ben Sargent Framed Cartoon Print, "Wildflowers In Heaven."
The original cartoon ran in the Austin American Statesman in July 2007 as tribute to Mrs. Johnson.


11. Signed copy of Harry Middleton's LBJ Coffee Table Book, donated by Western National Parks Association


12. Limited Edition Photographic Print by Scot Miller, Artist-in-Park volunteer. Scot, and his wife Marilyn, split their time between Stonewall and Dallas. They own and operate the Sun To Moon Gallery in Dallas. In the spring of 2009 the gallery featured an exhibition of Scot's photographs highlighting the Texas Hill Country and LBJ Ranch. About the print: "LBJ's Texas White House," #1 of 100, signed by the artist. 20"x24" Ultra chrome K3 Pigment Print.

17. "Julian Onderdonk: American Impressionist." This lavishly illustrated book featuring photographs of paintings exhibited at Dallas Museum of Art, exhibit: Julian Onderdonk: Bluebonnets and Beyond, offers a critical look at Impressionist Julian Onderdonk (1882-1922), one of Texas's finest landscape painters. Onderdonk transformed the Texas landscape, creating indelible images of his native state. By his death at age 40, Onderdonk had been christened, "The Bluebonnet Painter," in recognition of his lush signature landscapes featuring fields of the state flower.
