EVENT: 2010 LBJ 100 BIKE RIDE

[Editor's Note: This page refers to a completed event. To see details for forthcoming events, please go to the Activities page. Thanks]

2010 LBJ 100 BIKE RIDE:

The 2010 LBJ 100 date has been set for 9:00AM, Saturday, March 27th. Please mark your calendars.

Also note the following enhancements that will make the 2010 event even more convenient and fun for all:
* The printed Registration Form will be revised and online registration will be via Active.Com;
* The Start/Finish line and timing clock will remain up until all riders are in;
* Food, drink and a "gathering place" will be available for riders after completing the loops;
* Luci Johnson's Ranch Tour will begin at 1:00PM, enabling many riders to make a loop and also her tour.

Third Annual LBJ 100 - A Ride to Preserve History

The 3rd Annual LBJ 100 Bicycle Tour starts on the air strip of the historic LBJ Ranch on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 9:00 AM. The tour provides routes of 10, 30, 44 and 65 miles on scenic, low-traffic ranch roads in the Texas Hill Country.

As an added feature, Luci Baines Johnson's "Historical Tour of the LBJ Ranch" will depart at 1:00 PM (see Flash below). This narrated tour of the ranch landmarks is a not-to-be-missed event included in the registration price. Listen to Presidential history from someone who lived it!

FLASH ! -- The starting time for the Luci Baines Johnson bicycle tour of the LBJ Ranch has been moved to 2:00pm, Saturday, 27 March, to allow more LBJ 100 longer-route riders to participate.

An exciting new addition to the 2010 LBJ 100 is the use of four historic Gillespie County rural schools as rest stops. What better way to honor Lyndon B. Johnson, the thirty-sixth President of the United States, widely acknowledged as the "Education President"! His progressive education bills and many of his "Great Society" legislation programs were designed in the tranquility of his ranch.
