NOLAN KUEHN: After his career in the engineering design/construction field with major international firms, volunteerism played a greater part in his life, included a period as Executive Director of an interfaith-based disaster relief group helping people recover from the Allison flood in Houston. Nolan and his wife Elayne have always been avid tennis players, and this interest sparked a desire to relocate to the tennis-active community of Fair Oaks Ranch in the Texas Hill Country in 2003. In addition to past service on the Board of Directors of the Houston Tennis Association, Nolan presently serves on the Board of Directors of the San Antonio Tennis Association. He is also active in the Alamo City Tennis Officials' Association. Cycling is Nolan's other passionate avocation, which dates back to childhood. His cycle touring interest peaked in 2005, when he joined an international group for a self-contained tour with Adventure Cycling across the U.S.A. from San Diego, CA to St. Augustine, FL. He describes it as "an experience of a lifetime." He is immediate past President of the Hill Country Bicycle Touring Club, and still serves on the Board.
