Our Heart's Home Campaign:
To Restore and Preserve

the Texas White House Complex

The Vision - To Educate and Inspire Every Visitor

With the restoration of the Texas White House underway, the National Park Service is seeking financial support from the Friends to fund essential elements that will revitalize the visitor experience. In response to the Park's needs, the Friends created a campaign to raise $2 million for the Texas White House Complex. The pivotal outcome of this project is to present the story of a mid-20th-century president, his family, and their political legacy in an easily digestible 21st-century format. This refreshed perspective will provide context to inspire successive generations to further the vision, the work, and the dream.

This updated interpretation includes the following improvements:

  • The installation of a significant number of artifacts to deepen understanding of and connection to this period in American history.

  • Enhanced exhibits will illuminate historic moments and accomplishments in American society with renewed depth and vibrancy.

  • And finally, enhancing visitor accessibility throughout the complex while creating flexible spaces that support diverse audiences and uses, allowing NPS and the Friends to expand engagement opportunities, respond more nimbly to visitor needs, and strengthen storytelling.

If you believe, as we do, that understanding history and the lives of the people who made that history is necessary to advance our culture, our lives, and our nation, please join us in this mission and contribute to our financial goal.

Thank you!
